Dive Services

A clean hull can improve fuel efficiency and speed by as much as 25%. Cleaning a hull underwater is a meticulous and crucial task to maintain the efficiency and integrity of a vessel. Divers play a vital role in ensuring the operational efficiency and longevity of vessels by maintaining clean and well-maintained hull surfaces.

Our Dive Process

Here's a general outline of the process followed by our divers:

01.

Travel

Mobile Service: Our dive team comes to you in our custom dive vessel.

Marina Procedures: If required we contact the dock master and complete any documentation the night prior to arrival to minimise disruption at the Marine/Berth.

Private Berth / Mooring: All care is taken not to disrupt neighbours or other vessels during the cleaning process.

02.

Inspect / Prep

Safety Precautions: Divers ensure all safety equipment is in place, including diving suits, compressors, communication devices, special fenders and cleaning tools.

Initial Inspection: Before cleaning begins, divers inspect the hull for marine growth (such as algae, barnacles, and mussels), debris, and any damage. If cleaning isn't required we take photos and upload to the YMS.

03.

Cleaning

Manual Scrubbing: Divers manually scrub the hull using brushes or scrapers to dislodge stubborn marine growth.

Water Jetting: High-pressure water jets are used to remove softer growth and debris. This method is effective for cleaning large areas quickly.

Mechanical Tools: We may use mechanical devices or robots to assist in the cleaning process.

04.

Environment

Environmental Compliance: Throughout the process, divers adhere to environmental regulations to prevent the spread of invasive species and minimise ecological impact.

05.

Reporting

Documentation and Reporting: Divers document the condition of the hull before and after cleaning, noting any areas of concern or damage.

Photos: We take photos and videos before and after cleaning highlighting major areas eg anode replacement.

05.

Sign-Off

Completion and Sign-Off: Once satisfied with the cleaning and inspection, divers complete necessary paperwork and update the YMS.
